Biafra Launches Global e-Voting for United States of Biafra’s Referendum

The emergence of the structure for the sovereign state of Biafra, advocated by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of detained Nnamdi Kanu, is beginning to take shape. Several cities in the region, including Ikot Ekpene, Eket, and Aba, have been designated as state capitals within the proposed framework.

This initiative envisions the creation of the United States of Biafra, comprising 40 states drawn from areas of Nigeria such as Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Rivers, and Lower Benue.

To facilitate the realization of this vision, the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) has initiated a global self-referendum e-voting process. This referendum, accessible via Google, aims to gauge the desire for sovereignty among Biafrans worldwide, with a target of twenty-five million votes to legitimize the secession from Nigeria.

Eligible participants include adults aged 18 and above from the former Eastern and Mid-Western regions, as well as Igbo individuals in neighboring states.

The self-referendum underscores a longstanding aspiration for independence, as evidenced by previous acts of civil disobedience and electoral boycotts by Biafrans. Through these actions, including the weekly Monday Sit-at-Home protests and abstentions from Nigerian elections, Biafrans have consistently expressed their yearning for autonomy and freedom from perceived oppression.

The BRGIE assures participants of a transparent and secure voting process, with measures in place to safeguard data privacy and prevent unauthorized access.
