Governor Peter Mbah has emphasized the pivotal role of traditional rulers in fostering peace and progress in Enugu State, expressing the commitment of his administration to leverage their experience and wisdom. During the launch of the book titled “In The Line Of Duty,” Governor Mbah, represented by Chief Okey Ogbodo, the Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs, underscored the significance of drawing inspiration from the intellectual contributions of revered traditional rulers.
Highlighting the book’s importance, the governor recommended it as a valuable resource for teaching leadership and diplomacy to the younger generation. He affirmed the government’s ongoing commitment to accord respect and recognition to the traditional institution, recognizing its substantial contribution to realizing the envisioned future for Enugu State.
Commending Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, Chairman of the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers and author of the book, General Chris Garuba, a retired General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army, urged Nigerians to uphold existing peace and relationships that bind the country together. Emphasizing the role of unity and peace in nation-building, Garuba stressed the importance of instilling these values in future generations.
The book reviewer, former Minister of Power Prof. Chinedu Nebo, described “In The Line Of Duty” as a 13-chapter thought-provoking and knowledge-enriching masterpiece. Nebo recommended the book for individuals of all ages, particularly those in leadership positions or aspiring to be leaders, citing its wealth of practical experiences, wisdom, and a positive mindset for addressing challenging leadership issues.
In sharing his motivation for writing the book, Igwe Agubuzu, also the Chairman of Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, expressed a desire to preserve records for posterity.
